WALTHAM, Mass. (Aug 05, 2010) IntrinsiQ® has recently signed three new Allscripts clients since announcing in May that IntelliDose® – its best-of-breed chemotherapy management solution – will integrate with Allscripts electronic health record (EHR) systems.
The IntelliDose-Allscripts relationship enables Allscripts Enterprise EHR sites to manage oncology patient care workflow while leveraging the rich patient information in Allscripts. IntelliDose automatically calculates and tracks the precise administration of complex chemotherapy treatments, instilling high levels of patient safety and practice efficiency. Patient clinical and billing information integrates to form a complete patient record.
The new clients range from a large comprehensive cancer center, to a community hospital, to a major health system.
“Integration with Allscripts was the most important factor in selecting IntelliDose,” said Peter Malloy, CIO at Cheshire Medical Center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene in Keene, NH. “Our oncologists and nurses need to work across both EHR and oncology management systems. IntelliDose offers that ‘flow.’”
For all three practices, the Allscripts integration played a key role in the selection of IntelliDose. Other drivers included an intuitive user interface and comprehensive functionality.
“We’ve been waiting for a fully integrated oncology solution that would leverage our investment in Allscripts,” said Shelley Biggs, clinical director, of the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center (JACC), Covenant Health System in Lubbock, Texas. “We’re thrilled that IntelliDose came along. It fulfills all our needs.”
“We chose IntelliDose because it met all our requirements for integrating with Allscripts and other clinical systems,” said Ravi Sandhu, director, information technologies, California Cancer Specialists Medical Group (dba City of Hope Medical Group) in Monrovia, CA. “Its intuitive user interface will allow physicians and staff to improve healthcare by documenting treatment more safely, effectively and efficiently.”
IntelliDose is poised for a record-breaking year as market demand swells. The relationship with Allscripts paves the way for truly connected healthcare.
“Chemotherapy is unique in its complexity,” said Rich Gray, IntrinsiQ general manager, IntelliDose division. “We enable unparalleled patient safety and deliver business benefits to practices, which help our clients provide quality, cost-effective healthcare.”
